This product originated from SLNT’s seventh awarded SBIR contract with the United States Air Force and represents a major advancement in the protection of COMSEC assets during transport.
The successful SBIR award provided the foundation for SLNT to work directly with Air Force operators, pilots, and communications specialists to understand the real world challenges of safeguarding classified hardware. Through that collaboration, SLNT designed a purpose built courier system that addresses threats from electronic warfare, sophisticated cyber attacks, and targeted surveillance.
The result is the SLNT COMSEC Courier Faraday Backpack. It is a full spectrum security solution that combines advanced RF shielding, a slash proof exterior, dual lockable tamper proof zippers, interior locking compartments, secure organization for SKL devices and classified laptops, and zero external branding. Every detail was engineered to support operational security in transit, in air, and at the edge of the battlefield.
With three removable signal-blocking Faraday compartments, the COMSEC Courier Faraday Backpack isolates devices from cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, RFID, satellite navigation, EMP, EMF, solar flare exposure, and keyless entry signals. This ensures total RF silence for mission critical equipment, preventing tracking, probing, or remote compromise.
The exterior is built from ECOPAK Ultra 400, a Dyneema strength composite that provides exceptional resistance to slashing, water, UV, and abrasion. Inside the bag, operators will find two removable signal blocking Faraday inserts, one removable signal blocking Faraday sleeve for a 16 inch laptop, a foam organizer for COMSEC devices, and multiple carry configurations including adjustable backpack straps, a luggage pass through, and side grab handles.
This launch marks another milestone in SLNT’s work within the defense community. To date, the company has been awarded nine government contracts, with the COMSEC Courier Faraday Backpack program standing as contract number seven. The learnings from this SBIR effort helped propel additional innovation across SLNT’s military and government product lines.
